Texas Health Education Research Center

TX-HERC is a study center for the purposes of better understanding pre-medical, dental, and veterinary education based on factors present in student applications via longitudinal tracking of students through college and medical/dental/veterinary school. The student information housed at TMDSAS and JAMP will serve as the research data for examining, for example, the predictive factors of success in medical/dental school, trends in admissions, and factors that can impact an applicant’s competitiveness.

TX-HERC seeks to better understand and disseminate the answers to such questions through scholarly publication, regional meeting and conference presentations, and through the Texas Health Education Advising Network.
